Yesterday I saw a red fox dashing through the snow in the forest. We hardly ever see foxes. they hide from people Sometimes, when they are among the trees, they stand very still so no other animal will notice them. Animals do not see things in color, only in black and white. They are color blind. So when animals don’t move, other animals don’t see usually see them.
Most people can see our foxes, though, because these foxes are orange, and most people can see that color. But some people can only see in black and white because they are color blind, too. But there’s another kind of blindness all people have: We are angel blind! We cannot see the angels unless God permits it. Angels don’t have the same kind of bodies that we do. They are usually invisible to us. But whether we can see them or not, God sends his powerful angels to watch over us. He sends angel messengers to bring us answers to our prayers.
Jesus said that the angels of children always look on God the Father’s face. (Matthew 18:10) God pays special attention to angels of children because he loves each child very much. So he lets their angels come to him whenever they want ant tell him what the children need.
Whenever you want to tell God something, and you pray, God sees and hears you. It’s kind of like a one-way Face Time: God sees you, but you don’t see him. Then God tells your angel how to help you, and the angel does.
King David wrote, “For he (God) will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.” (Psalm 91:11, NLT) When you are awake, God has his angels watching over you. When you are asleep, the angels are right there, too!
When my son Drew was little, his very favorite Bible verse was Psalm 4:8 — In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety. (NIV) Every night before he went to sleep, Drew would say that verse aloud. Would you like to learn that verse too?
Next time you pray, remember that God sees you, he hears you, and he guards you with his angels.
Until our next campfire, I’m sending you happy hugs!
